Hohenwerfen Castle
The 900 year old Hohenwerfen Fortress sits in state high over the Salzach valley between the Tennen and Hagen mountains. Apart from guided tours through the castle, the weapons exhibition, a castle tavern, a ritterladen (shop specializing in mediaeval items), and the historic Land falconry complete with exhibitions of flight, a comprehensive associated program is on offer to visitors. Traditional afternoons, theatre performances or special falconry programs round off the program.
