Schloss Mirabell
Archbishop Wolf Dietrich Raitenau commenced the building of Schloss Mirabell in 1606. It was dedicated to Salome von Alt, whom he held in high regard. In the years that followed, the building was re-designed and, after a fire in 1818, rebuilt anew. Lovers can utter the ‘Yes’ word here in the wonderful Wedding Room and then capture their unforgettable moments on camera or video in the Garden. The Mirabell Garden consists of a rose garden, a gnome garden, a maze as well as a ‘Heckentheater’ (open-air theatre formed by hedges), and also has sculptures based on the mythology of antiquity.
