Municipal Cemetery
The Salzburg Municipal Cemetery was opened on 1st January 1879. As a quiet, green oasis in the middle of the town, the grounds were laid out with the thought of also giving the living some rest and recreation. The cemetery is considered as one of the most beautiful in the whole of Europe – partly because of its unique situation with its view to the Hohensalzburg Fortress.
